Naturschutz2go – Seeds instead of chewing gum

Since 2019, Jonte Mai from Bremen has been turning disused chewing gum and condom vending machines into seed dispensers – for more wildflowers and insects in our cities. We support the project in cooperation with the Filippas Engel Foundation.

The idea

What began with a single converted vending machine in Bremen is now in use all over Germany. Many of the machines are set up together with children and young people – connecting hands-on species conservation with environmental education and showing young people that everyone can make a difference.

Award-winning and beyond borders

The multi-award-winning idea – honoured among others with the Main Award and the Alumni Award of the Filippas Engel Foundation – has meanwhile spread to Austria, the Netherlands and France.
