Who is behind it

It all started in 2014 with a handful of students.

The idea was born in the summer of 2014: deposit bottles lie around everywhere, and if someone collects them, they turn into money for a good cause. What began as a one-off campaign is now a volunteer network of school and university students working nationwide — deposit containers at schools and companies, collection containers at trade fairs and events.

Behind it all is Spende Dein Pfand gUG from Cologne, a registered non-profit company. In practical terms: the proceeds do not stick anywhere — they are passed on.
